New Methods New Results

American Studies has taught me a handful of lessons but none larger than my ability to “show” rather than “telling”. I always felt I was a fairly talented writer when it came to research/topic papers but my creativity was somewhat limited. The story telling exercises gave me room to learn how to show characters doing something or feeling a certain way instead of going out right and describing it directly.  This gives the reader the opportunity to use their imagination and interpret the story or character as they deem appropriate.
