On a crisp Monday morning
of the first day back from winter break in 6th grade, I quickly ran
outside and checked the temperature. Seeing dew as I first stepped out, I knew
it would be brisk enough to wear pants. The idea alone excited me more than cereal,
which is what got me out of bed every morning until then. I would finally be
able to sport the new look that was popular in my school, rubber bands on the
bottom of one’s jeans. From here, I threw on my cloth and sported my new hip
look.
